Its never crossed my mind, but i have disconected the battery a few times and never thought about the radio code, it just came back on...
We did have a problem with another one though, after we disconected the battery the key would not start the truck again and it had to be re-coded. ( I bet that made you feel a whole lot better ) |

I fitted a new battery to my 2001 model and had no problem with the radio, I think I had to retune it, but that's all

On my 1995 Maverick, which has a Ford radio, you need the radio code on battery disconnect, as there is no immobiliser system on the 2.7 td version.

changed my battery on my 2002 model, no need for a code (assuming you have the standard nissan radio fitted) as it will just need retuning again

You can get round this by putting another smaller battery in parallel while you change the main one. david.
