Just watched the RBL Festival of Remembrance, how proud we should be in this country.

Tomorrow will be the big parades in most towns and cities. Next year will be the biggest for many years due to Remembrance Sunday falling on the 11th. I will be playing what I consider to be a small part in my town's parade tomorrow with a tear of pride. It is good to see that people have not forgotten what Remembrance is about. Then a drink with the VET's at the end of the afternoon. Will buy one particular VET who took a pounding at Monte Cassino a wee dram of something warming, a very nice man and a real gentleman.

Briggie you know exactly where I am coming from.

Great afternoon and very moving. Saw two British Para vets assist a German Para vet lay a reef, that was moving and I nearly shed a tear. He made it through Monte Cassino to live his life here in the UK and become best of friends with people who were once enemies. They all share the same past just different clothing when it comes down to it. RBL Bikers led the parade, with the metal on some of their chests I don't know how they kept their balance. Saw something that I have never seen before, people lined the route as per usual but they were clapping the whole parade even down to the youth groups. We've had it official that it was the 2nd biggest parade in the UK. A very moving day and proof people have not forgotten what service men and women have given and still giving.

Went for a drink afterwards where a lot of people that had taken part were. Had a great chat with an old vet. I wish my old man could of been there too.

Jim, it only hits you what those few words "We will remember" actually do mean whe you see the wreaths and photographs on graves over 90 years on. My grandfather was lucky, he came back when millions of others didn't. It makes you think when you see so many graves in such a small area.May they all rest in peace.
