I agree with Fez, the standard recommended pressures on standard tyres are low enough. If you go to low you have increased potential for sidewall damage, a lesson I have learnt the hard way several times

I agree with Plank agreeing with Fez, saves messing about.
Dry Sand could be the exception though, which might benefit from lower pressures.

me too, after all lanes are legal roads still, typically not that demanding indeed if needed much more toys, or less air would question if was following tread lightly guidelines. as said if get stuck or almost on a beach air those puppies right down have heard as low as 9psi but clearly going to need plenty of air as soon as get to hard stuff.

hi surely byways are open to all traffic
used to be called boats now typically just byways, mind avoid restricted byways as these are the old rupps roads used as public footpaths and bridleways since reclassifiction by some county right of way departments. in derbyshire we gained ORPA, the dotted lanes other route public access, though need checkling as my not have vehicular rights. these lanes are typically farm access tracks so can be a grey area unlike pure byway/boats. still would question need to de air to that degree, unless already stuck. just take time, read route, get out and inspect if in doubt and really should be in a group.
