Default lwb nissan patrol

I was approached by a bloke who lives up the road from me because of my Nissan club stickers asking me to ask on here if anybody wanted to buy his patrol as the engine has dumped all its oil into the radiator.

so I went up to take a few pics and get a few details

he doesn't know if its the head gasket gone but there is a big rip in the top radiator hose that dumped oil all over the engine bay.
hes had it for ten years and has a few recipts for this and that including new brakes and new alternator and he has one or two spare parts.

all gears work well and 4 wheel works well.
body is a bit rusty in places over the rear wheel arches mostly.

it was moted in December so has near full mot.

I asked how much of coarse and he was a bit vague and was after the best offer.
he did mention around £500 but maybe get it cheaper?
he said the recovery truck dropped it off at his house and it didstart and run but wouldn't run it for any period as of causing damage.
apart from the mentiond rust and a couple of dings its not bad overall.
I think its a 3.3 diesel.
It will have to be taken away on a trailer if anyone buys it.

I have his number if anyone wants to call him in person.

and if anyone buys it but cant collect it for a bit I can put it outside my house until you can collect.
the pic files are to big
I will try put em on photo bucket

Head gasket is a known weakness on the 3.3 d engine.
If oil has come from the rad hose it sounds like this is the culprit.
Would be a nice project for someone.

I am defo interested, I would look at possibly putting an alternate engine in... I know very little on this matter, first on the list would be the 4.2 bad boy,

Don't know if they would fit but I suspect yes...

Awaiting info though

Think this will go into long term storage

Just buy a 4.2 patrol, no need to faff about with a new engine + wiring loom etc. Also axles on a 4.2 will be better than the ones on a 3.3
