Most likely at that age. Just look for the abs light at start up. Also lift the bonnet and look for the big pumpo gizmo thing near the n/s bulkhead

My 3.0 Sport is 2003 and has ABS, so I'd imagine a 2.7 does too

The non intercooler version, we call the 2.7 Td, the confusion is likely to occur at the year of the changeover point. The Td engine has very few belts and whistles, so less likely to need any replacement parts, as it doesn't have the MAF, Crank Shaft Position Sensor, Throttle position sensor, fault codes etc I don't think they had the option of ABS, I know that aircon was an expensive option at the time. The Td, as a consequence has less power than the Tdi, and some say... isn't quite as economical, but that depends more on the weight of the right foot. Hope it helps, best regards, Rustic

abs brakes and other probs
hi there ,i am new to the site but not the cars i have had two the first was a 51 plate lwb 2.7tdi sport which i had from new for 9 years then i had a terracan for two years but i have just replaced that with a w plate 2.7tdi se lwb , i have got the generic brake problem again that i had on the 51 plate it happens like this ... if the abs light is on the brakes operate fine but with no abs if the abs light goes out the abs operates intermittently in normal road conditions and the brakes disappear as you press the pedal , you can hear the abs unit working as if the wheels are locked but they are not , i checked the pink wire at the back of the intercooler identified in other forums but that seems ok also the auto hubs are grinding / whinning and tugging all over the place so i am going to change them to manual hubs from milners , the brakes are the real issue so any other ideas please !!!
