hey guys, thanks for the welcomes

Ive lived here all my life, it suprises me there are no local outings as we have the black mountains and the beacons, i know there is walters arena, but thats not a place to be taken lightly

Yes its a 1996 maverick, all terrano stuff thankfully and not ford lol Ive owned the maverick about 4 years, good old truck that i originally bought it for some offroading, but ended up becoming the family wagon

If I had the time I would love to come and explore down that way, there are some beautiful areas down there.

Indeed there are, just a shame im having trouble finding information on what lanes are around this area, OS maps seem pointless and i know there are hundreds of lanes, just cant find any

You may find that what were once driveable 'green lanes'.....Byeways Open to All Traffic...BOATS......have had a nimby attack and are now just footpaths/bridleways, down which it is now illegal to drive.......you need to find the local authority 'Rights of Way' officer and get a definitive list/map......

Ive spoken to neath council, very wobbly on the details and he dident seem to understand what i was requesting, only telling me that i can view the maps ''by appointment only''

Just contacted carmarthenshire council, awaiting a call back from them, but the lady was helpfull and said the same as yourself

who knew it would be this difficult to find decent lanes lol

Typical council 'jobsworth'.......remember the opening of Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy........and the deposit of the plans in a basement on a different planet.........

I think you find it increasingly difficult to find somewhere......a lot of folks on here have found their old routes closed down to vehicles....

Best film ever

Went for a little wander up the mountains last night, know the mountains well as my girlfriends farm is up there, Found a few little tracks that are being used regular (albeit i havent seen anybody up there in years) Unfortunatly they are not on the OS maps as byways

there is one track ive known about for years which is a greenlane, but its got FECKING HUGE boulders blocking the entrance, apparently it was done by a farmer because he was pissed off

If it is still a B.O.A.T (byway open to all traffic) he should not do that and you are legally allowed to remove the obstruction. A couple of good strops and low box might do it
