Question Nissan Patrol Question ?

Is there a current Nissan Patrol Auto still sold in the UK?

I'm wondering what sort of price a 2012 model or later would cost.

It's the only alternative Wendy would consider if we do not go for a later Jeep GC 3.0 CRD.

Stopped selling Patrols in the UK in 2009

2009 is the latest you'll find.

Thanks for that I did wonder why newer ones were not on Autotrader & the like.

Might have to be another Jeep GC when the WJ needs replacing.

We have had a very small water loss from the coolant system over a few months that has been difficult to trace as we are talking about half a pint of coolant every 2 or 3 months.

I think it is the return hose between the header tank & the top of the radiator that was the culprit so I have lopped off the end half inch and put on a new clip.

Local Auto Parts Shop who sold me a new clip recommended adding some K-Seal as an added precaution. I come from the Radweld generation & I know you can't generally use it in a closed system with a header tank.

This K Seal is a liquid containing "pointed" suspended Copper metal - some sort of nano technology. Not an outrageous price at £11.99 so I have put some into the system. This was last Thursday - so far no coolant loss but early days - more importantly no sign of any fresh staining around the top of the radiator.

if you want newer than 2009 why not consider a Land Cruiser, I went from Patrol to 2010 Land Cruiser 150 series and totally love it, beats the Patrol on everything but size, and if you need size there is the 100 series. The 150 series only tows 3 ton not 3.5 like Patrol but other than that better economy, more comfort.
Worth a look.

Kind regards

Russell.

Compared to a Jeep Grand Cherokee most of the Land Cruiser that have been in my price band have had Starship mileage. Also is the Land Cruiser a rubber band or chain driven camshaft ? I have an aversion to cambelts -probably unjustified.
