Yes they do, but the new ones are fitted with a ''beefed up'' clutch which can be fitted if yours goes. Also the half shafts go as do the 4x4 switches.

Thanks for the reply, the seller told me the half shafts were changed at the first service (18000mls) under warranty as Nissan found abit of play (24000mls on clock now).
I have noticed the bitting point on my clutch is quite high, hope thats not a sign of warn clutch? It dosen't slip at all and I guess Nissan wont change it under warranty??? How much ish is a new 'Beefy' clutch fitted?? :?

They do them under warrenty, but i think sometimes they need a bit of pushing.

Theres a lot of info at nissan-navara.net but I prefer this site!

Also watch out for metal inserts behind the alloy wheels, if they fall out (When changing a wheel) make sure and put them back in place as if they are left out the wheel doesnt sit right and can shear the bolts off.

Yeah I think it was 57 plates, when they had a bit of a face lift, they also got different alloys and indicators in the mirrors.

Looking about on the net i have found quite a few unhappy Navara owners with Clutch/flywheel, half shaft and rear axle issues  I also found that Nissan give a 20,000 ml warranty for the clutch so i guess I'm out on that with just under 24,000 on the clock :? And peps that have had to pay get a bill for about for just over £1000 from Nissan to replace fly & Clutch

So I brought the Nav as she looks chunky mean and has a great engine (oddles of torque) to tow my jet ski on/off the beach and now I'm scared to use it for that

Hello Matt, Welcome to our club.

Not sure how much you paid for your Navara, But you cannot not use it just because you think something just might go wrong, Be proud to sit behind the wheel of one of the best looking trucks on the road today.

Just enjoy it and hook up the jet ski and get down to the beach and show it off.

Mav.

There are quite a few issues with the D40, but as usual you only here the bad things. USE IT, ajet ski wont weigh that much anyway. D22's are renowned for blowing engines but I know plenty of High Milers!
