Default Matlock this year.

Dragging the caravan to Lickpenny Park this year, near Matlock. Should be settled in by Sunday night. Camped in Ricks back garden last year so who do we have in this area?

Some nice places to visit around Derbyshire and some nice lanes, if the fun police haven't had them closed.

Isn't that Elty's neck of the woods?

Yep, Matlock is not too far from me.
My mate works at the garden centre just down the road from lickpenny ,Scotland nurseries .
If you are not afraid of heights I would recommend the cable car ride from Matlock Bath ,some brilliant views from that.chatsworth house and Gardens not too far away and if you have kids the farm park and adventure playground at chatsworth is well worth a visit.
Enjoy your stay and feel free to drop me a pm if you need any more info on the area.

Thanks guys. Will be out and about but not sure I'll be risking any lanes on my own unless they're very tame.
Cheers elty, the kid's will love the cable car ride so that's a definite and I've already orders to visit Chatsworth house from the wife and the mother n law.
I'll be taking my mountain bike too so will be having some me time... Quality.
We'll be there for 10 nights so anyone passing through feel free to get in touch.

That's great elty. Where the track splits by the river, not far from the start, do I take the left or right.
Not going to mention it to the family, just slip off the tarmac onto the dirt.

Wink

You keep to the left. When you are on the lane it's clear which way to go.the track on the right is gated and comes to a dead end.
While you are on the chatsworth estate if you drive up the road about 1/4 mile past the entrance to to chatsworth house there is a small village called Edensor on your left through a big arch with gates.
Follow the road through the village, not forgetting to buy some home made jam from the cottage on the left up to another easy lane that brings you out at the back end of bakewell.

Yep. We'll be there till the following Tuesday but can't risk anything too serious. The roughest lane I've been down is the lane to Ricks place!
