Default 3l auto

well i am sad to say that it might be time to say goodbye to my trusty 3l.auto.
this morning a chap went to park in the space in front of it and he slipped from break to throttle and crunch.auto.
big impact to bumper dented front of bonnet grill headlight indercater and bumper all out of alignment.
now its all surfice damage and fixerball but i am not fit enough to do anymore so its in the hands of my insurance co now.
its been 100 0/0 reliable with only fault out on the road was the alternator died so replaced on field when out with caravan, engin box breaks ok.

i am taking it to a good repairer i know today to get an idear of repair costs.i think the only parts will be front bumper and inner ion,all else is usable, but even that might be salvageable,
that will give me an idear about whether to buy it back as i am sure it will be written off as uneconomical to repair.
on driving the hand break pulls straight up so suspect the cable snapped when shunted as it was perfect befor it was hit.
as to value i cant say until research and ins value is known.
i got its mot in march and passed and only done 20mls since.

well ins co wrote terry off, agreed prices and was surprised at them.they offered me a write off at 3120.i have agreed to buy it back and instructed a body shop to do the repairs but leave the bonnet as small dent right at front.
so hopefully all in i should get it sorted inc buying it back for 900.but then ins co want a new mot on it.
in my better days i would have done all the work and paint bonnet, but alas i am not fit enough to do it.
its a 3l 2004 sve auto 148500mls.
