How to engage 4wd Low?
Hey everyone, I've got a 93 terrano automatic.
I can get into 4wd High no problem, but the shifter doesnt want to go back any further than 'neutral' so cant hit 4wd Low. Am I missing a trick? How do I shift? So far, I'm doing everything in 'park'. Also, the overdrive light blew yesterday. Is it an easy fix, something I can do myself or is it a dashboard off scenario? |

Also, the auto box MUST be in Neutral to shift into low range.

Pull your sun visor down, the instructions might be on it. You need to be stationary and in neutral.

with an auto, id say in main box neutral, handbrake on optionally and foot brake depressed.
with last one many cars wont change main auto position, ie N to D or R/P without brake pedal pressed firmly down.

So just to clarify. Stop -> Gear into 'park' -> 4wd H -> gear into 'neutral' -> push down on lever and 4wd L, et voila? |

Sure ok, I'll get some pics up on the weekend.
From what I can tell its fairly standard, just with some running boards and bull bars. Not sure if its an after market extra, but the wheel arches seem to be flared, with additional flarey things bolted on too. Allows for BIG wheels Yea its a 3ltr v6 petrol. Takes 65ltrs of 91 unleaded and will get 450km+ in shitty commuter traffic, so looking forward to getting it on the open road. The best bit is the paint job. My other car is a subaru GT-B, and I have a fit if so much as a spec of dust is on the paint. With the nissan, even scratches from foliage just 'add character' in that same sense of when the boys compare scars down the pub |
