Lampeter area anyone night of 17/18 Oct
I've just agreed to navigate on the Sarn Helen Rally starting and finishing at the Black Lion in Lampeter on the night of sat 17th Oct.
Apparently they are being lenient on crews that have travelled a long way but we are supposed to bring along a nominated marshal for the night - wondered if anyone might be interested in coming out for an evenings sport and filling that role for us. I know nothing of the route etc except its over 100miles long and will start about midnight and end early hours, everything is kept secret till the night. If anyone is up for it let me know and I can pass you the details, should be a good mix of machinery out, including a good number of Mk2 (and maybe Mk1) escorts - I'm going to be in a Mk2 myself, not 100% on the spec but its a big big power one, capable of winning outright in the right hands, also the usual mix of hot hatches (205, Astra, Nova, Proton), etc |

Difficult to say as I've no idea how many marshals the'll get out but it would involve manning either a Time control where you'd need to be giving the crews times etc or just a passae control where you'd be signing to say they'd been there, they might be able to offer you 2 positions throughout the night or if they've got plenty perhaps just one in which case you'd probably be abel to get some info for where to go spectate as well.
I did one on saturday night, got 2 time controls 1 at midnight and then another at 4am ish. Controls usually open 30mins before 1st car and are open for aboiut 1 1/2 hrs to allow 60 cars plus up to 30 minutes lateness, theres usually a closer so you know when to move on. |

I thought Sarn was closed this time of year, or are they just using the name?
