That stuff won't work as its not for sticking. You may try and solder it back on as this is what I did to mine, bit tricky though as vertical surface.

You'll not solder it in this cold weather. Best chance to solder outside is in summer when it's proper warm. I'm pretty sure that others will be a long to say different. The trouble is the glass aint half a good heat sink not to mention the cool air. I managed to solder one many years ago but I don't think it's a long term fix.

Trouble is soldering outside is that you might be able to melt the solder but it doesn't "run", by run I mean spread like a liquid rather than poking it around with the iron. You can get more powerfull irons but then your running the risk of cracking the glass.
Best of luck Jim |

If you do a poor repair, you will make a poor connection that can form a local hot spot which can lead to the rear window shattering.
Check your windscreen cover, it may have shattered due to a poor connection or by local thick ice when the rear heater was on. You can buy adhesive copper tape that is used for radio screening, but it will need firming down. This is one with conductive adhesive. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SELF-ADHESIVE-...item3f05c04c5d I have never used the tape for this application, only for RFI screening but may do the trick.
