MOT Passed

Hi guys, the 3 litre has just passed it's MOT today. It failed this morning on a twisted brake hose, left twisted by the muppet garage from the other week. Worse than that is the ball joints that the muppets removed with all the work they did, the cowboys didn't fit split pins or even line up the castle nuts with the holes.
Looks like I'll be contacting Trading Standards after all.

Don't ever never go back there Jim. We need a central terrano/maverick engineer, who's willing to travel, we can call on anytime for any job.

The trucks future is secure with us now.

Amazing garage I took it to, proper old school. The old bloke explained that they don't do the mot as that way they can't be accused of making work. They charged me an hours labour, had to drive it about 3 or 4 miles for test twice and with the cost of the mot it still came to less than £100. They don't take card so he said oh come back in the morning and let us take the truck away.

He also told me to stop using supermarket fuel and to start using proper stuff. He told me all about the differences and said to try a tank full and compare the difference in mpg and starting.

Hopefully then I've found a garage nearby that I can trust, a neighbour recommended the place.

I hate garage's, Last year the mav needed the clutch doing, i had just bought the house, dident have the time or the inclination do be taking the box off on the driveway, so we payed a local garage who specialise in building rally cars and does have a really good reputation, supplied him the clutch, and he said yeah no problem give me 2 days and 200 quid

well when leanne picked it, she rang and said the gearbox is making a funny nosie, turns out they forgot to refill the transfer box, killing the output bearing shaft within 5 miles, denied everthing and i had to fork out on another transfer box, and do the flipping thing on the driveway

I was a bit pi@@ed off as mine failed the MOT first time in seven years. Mind you when he showed me I did have a hole in the boot floor you could have your head through. (and a couple of minor advisories) I could not argue

Except in an emergency I have not used supermarket fuel for the last 20 years or so. I put Super Unleaded in the BMW and the Shell V power or Ultimated Diesel in the Jeep. I also use Esso & Texaco as it is a well engineered fuel. Trouble with Supermarket fuel is it can be such a mixed bag depending on what's selling cheap on the wholesale market.

I have worked on the basis that the cleaner the fuel the less crud ends up in the engine and in the Cat.
I will be interested to see what tankers pull up at the CostCo Filling Station in Derby when it opens in a couple of months time. The Yanks are so conscious of being taken to court I suspect it will be a decent brand at a good price.
