New saw

Suz's Dad gave me one of those a couple of years back, I keep it in with the SE4x4R stuff in the car.

I was down a Green Lane doing some reconnaissance work for Kent Police, and got to a bit where a large tree had fallen beside the road, but had pushed a load of chestnut saplings into the road. I had to cut through about 10 3 and 4 inch branches to clear the way, and this made light work of it.

Might have to invest in one to replace my big bow saw i carry in the back.

Not a very H&S correct video !

One slip of the saw when cutting towards your body does not seem very safety conscious.lol

Made me want one even though we have no trees - the power of advertising eh.

There are loads of different Silky saws, the red handled F180 that I got is a faster cutting one with less teeth, they do a finer one with a yellow handle, the ones with the curved blades are good but I got the F180 cos its light and small as it will be going in a backpack.

As a tree surgeon/forester, I've been using these saws for years......

I've worn out 3 of the above model, and would recommend them above all others.

I would strap the scabbard to my leg, with the saw attached on a long leash, this model will cut through 6" green Oak, with ease. I used my small Stihl saw, far less in favour of the silky for high pruning.

But, and it is a big but........they are fearsomely sharp......so much so that you can have a severe cut......and not know it until you see the red stuff.....they take no prisoners......Mea culpa......ouch... :doh

Nice one, its good to get a pro's opinion, I'll get one to keep in the truck.

This thing is very sharp yes, the teeth are electronically impulse hardened (apparently :D) which makes them stay sharp for longer.
