non existant post
hi i get emails on follow up posts for topics so i click the link and follow to the login page but when i log in i get a message saying the post doesnt exist and have to use the index to find it any idea? use vista 64 with firefox

i'm on vista and just followed the topic reply link in the e-mail i received,

did you get the email i sent to the admin address? that shows the prob, as you say if the topic had been deleted then fair enough but it hasnt

no need just seen the screen print, i would say as you are using firefox this may be the problem, try viewing through IE7, never liked firefox and it has reported lots of issues over the years with members using it.
once they went back to IE then all was ok. |

nope same issue with ie 7 but heres the issue if i set my system not to clear cookies and save my login details its ok if however i delete cookies and logon details so that if i follow the link i have to login then i get the error which would suggest its site based incidentally i tried the same thing on my wifes laptop which runs xp64 and had the same issue unless i keep cookies or logon details

Hi all..
I had that problem a couple of months ago, so i logged out and logged back in again and it cured it, i use firefox, never had the problem before, and not since.. just a little bug somewhere i suppose.... |

Thanks for that Mrgadget,
There’s a lot of site here to look after and i think if it says there’s a post and there is not, then i don’t think its that much of a problem and of course there’s always the back button. Thank for your concerns and thanks also for letting us know about it, I don’t think it will get any worse and with a bit of luck it might even go away as quick as it came. Thanks, Mav. |
