Alex I know it sounds like a scary prospect but believe me in the end all you'll get is a severe telling off at worst.
Once the call has been made, make your way straight round to the neighbours and advise them of what you have done, tell them you are sick of the noise etc etc and that you have called the police, return back to your property then watch them poo themselves when cars start screaming up outside your houses. You'll know why they have turned up so quick and in such numbers but next door will be oblivious and will be watching from behind their curtains in fear, that enough should hopefully send the right message and may stop your late night building work but my god matey. You've got your work cut out ahead of you with the rest of your problems

Alex, you spoke recently of a gun club if I recall correctly, any sounds of violence from you could lose you the license.
The council should have an out of hours number, at Southend they have people on call 24/7, ring your council instead of the police, as has been said, the police will not attend for a civil dispute, but the council person will be accompanied by police if they come out to see you. If you ring, have your phone as close as possible to the noise so the Council person can hear it. Good luck, perhaps you may appear on TV, I did around 1995 in Neighbours from Hell, I was defending a friend who had the house next door to him, I still have the video |

Funny as it sounds we have never actually told him about the working times... He should know really but I keep meaning to print the council times off and giving it to him. Since some bad language came out of my mouth they don't park I front of our garden anymore... I'm not sure if he's just plain arrogant or stupid as well... The builders he had in won't know the laws as they were all cowboys... (And wouldn't spy until instructed as they were supposed to be getting paid....) All I know is those builders must be pretty pissed!!!! I'm gonna print out the times first, hand it to him, then see |

If you don't know their out of hours number, ring them during the day to ask for it. Don't even mention to the police that "arms" are involved, if they turn up equipped, you could be done for wasting police time. No point with trying that approach with our neighbour, he's an armed response police officer... Your neighbours could be there for years, so softly softly following procedures, let the authorities take the flack, when this is all over, they will still be there. If you try to get your own back, by doing things against them, then that gives them reason to do little things against you, car vandalism, etc etc What do the neighbours think on the other side? can you get support from them a statement, calendar of events? in fact that's what you need, a diary, with photo video evidence, otherwise it's your word against theirs.
