I work for a recovery company which works as a sub contractor for various police forces.
the biggest offenders that we pull out of ditches off roundabouts and turn back on to their wheels are white van man who clearly overtakes himself on the way back, the boy/girl racer in their tricked up heaps of sh1t, and the biggest offenders the drunk or druged driver very rearly do we get a 4x4 in any of these predicaments.
they have these spills because of SPEED and the lack of respect for it,. what would you do if one of the aformentioned ran your wife daughter son and so on over killing them or seriously injuring them...

what im saying is take the lead out of your right foot your in control

btw the driving course that someone previously mentioned is for first time offenders I BELEIVE!

It's not the speed cameras or plod that get my goat , it's the arbitary way people get done. By that I mean plod tax van parked up as hidden as poss, on the way OUT of town, in the 40mph zone (after the 30) but just before the open road. So most people (agreed wrongly) accelerate out of town looking forward to some space and get on with the journey.BINGO scores of pretty pics. Now that is just TAX. It's also clear that these so called safety cameras are not placed where danger may occur, but where the most likely collection rate will be reached.
I agree "speeding" is wrong, but driving fast needn't be. It is not that I condone speeding in a 30 for example either.
I wish it was a safety issue that the filth were working to sort but it just is a TAX. There would be a much greater reduction in "speeding" with police presence as opposed to cheatable cameras.

Anyway, I guess some of you must be boys in blue or similar, why is it that when we ring plod to report drugs being sold outside the school gate, the answer from the bizzies was "We're busy at the moment, we'll pop round later".

Our neighbours had their car badges prizzed off by some idiots on the way home from the pub, but rozzers wouldn't even come and have a word .
So you may see why I think they just look at drivers as cash cows, and easy pickings.

This is 2nd time caught and have been offered the course so obviously not for first time offenders.

Appreciate what you are saying, but the people who end up in ditches are seriously speeding and not judging the road correctly, 39 is still a controlable speed and when there is nothing in front of you then you will be doing over the speed limit. I reckon everyone here speeds at some stage durng the day?

Bit of homework and clarification needed there. Whilst the argument for putting all speed detection into the hands (so to speak) of cameras imho a very very weak one and the impact on overall stats neglible, the hard evidence on site specific and target road cameras reducing casualties is incredibly strong to the point of usually irefutable. As I said earlier , definitely our neck of the woods, they need a reason to put a camera in a given spot.

A higher proportion serious injuries up the speed scale and fatalities occur in the higher speed areas. It comes down simply to the effect on the victim. Higher speed = greater damage. You cant have missed the ads?

The simple fact is I find it very hard to believe you on this one. The rest of your points are very valid opinions but on this one can you really say YOU have contacted the cops on MORE than one occasion and not been given any response or feedback ? On jobs youve intimated to theres ALWAYS something going on in the background at some level on that food chain. Period.

If theres no suspect no evidence and nothing other than a removed badge to look at why would they need to attend? Thats the logic these days at least, not that I particularly agree with it. Where they seem to have gone wrong on your example if what you say is the full story is explaining what does happen. I can see how you get frustrated.

If you really want a cop to come out to a removed car badge, tell the woman in the next area who's getting a beating from her drunken husband you preferred the resources to come to you. It is often a choice that stark.

You may be surprised to know just how limited police resources actually are nationally despite the govts hype and waffle. Dont forget all PCSOs go home to bed on a night time so the much vaunted record number of "police family" out on the streets is massively reduced. Did you know that?

Double your rates (or at least the bit that goes to the police ) then ask for more , you may well get.

You've got a shop, I had a crap experience with a shop keeper recently over returned goods. The law put him 100% in the wrong I won decisively. Doesnt mean all shopkeepers you included are crap stupid or not doing their job just because I'm not a retailer and dont understand the whole system does it

Its a tough world but unfortunately perception is all and often overrides hard info

Well I agree and do realise plod is strapped for cash BUT.
My wife teaches in said school. Her friend on yard duty saw the car and dealing going on outside the school gates. The call was made that moment and the answer as I said.
The kids with the badge turned out to have done over 50 other cars and assorted phone boxes. They were "caught" because one of their mums was puzzled by her sons bedroom wall covered in car bits.
They were also drinking underage. At the time plod was advised they were still messin about on the street,but plod were too busy.
I hope any body being beaten is not delayed help by the police at all.
Now a safety camera van parked up in the hedge out here in the sticks is not saving anybody getting run over . In town fair enough, but if it is actually a "safety issue" then why not carry out street calming projects then?
8 plod wagons, a dog van and the DHSS in the layby is stopping the woman getting help from plod when she needs it!
As regards my shop, well the ruddy politzai took 3days to get me a crime no. for the insurance. The window was broken by drunks in town after club throw out. There was a bottle of some naff choco vodka in the shop. Plod wouldnt even take it for prints. They were too busy I guess.Only one pub in town sells the stuff, surely they could have a word at least!

sorry i have to say this just because their was no one in front what would you of done if soneone pulled or even a kid walked out in front of you because you wouldnt be say that for sure

i have 3 points for talking on my bluetooth and swollowed it because i couldnt prove it at the time because when they see me with my hand near my ear while sitting in traffic so at the end of the day we all do silly things but thats life
