4x4 come to think of it, I need to use my 4x4 today to drive down to the shops, which is what 4x4's were originally designed for back in the early 1900's/

Its funny but when you are driving a 15 year old 4 x 4 on a two way road and there is a parked car on the otherside of the road its funny how people give way to you as they are supposed to ?

Not to mention never getting stuck when I go fishing and the Missus's smug smile last winter when she went where others just spun a wheel !

Almost worth the Diesel it costs to run one ! lol

yu know, thats a fair point! for example, I like to dabble a little with photography and 3d graphics, just for fun. I also like to mess around with my other car, mazda MX3, fitted leather seats two week ago, and currently doing some subtle painting to tart it up a bit.

Fair play Clivvy Are you going for the rat look or maybe some bling?
As long as you don't go off pulling a tin tent with it

nothing major, the car is black,so i have done the small round bumper fog light surrounds in red, the calipers I need to paint, in red, and the rear sees the twin exhaust tail pipe ends, in red (litterally a ring of red, not the whole tail pipe) I have also sprayed the wiper arms, so they look nice (hammered black) and replaced the rear lights with some very nice, gloss black lights. Fitted the leather seats and they are really good, fitted a good as new parcel shelf too. Next task is new mats in black with red leather piping, and new stereo in black/red. Alreayd sorted most of my light bulbs out, fitting LED's where I can. Hopeing to also do the alloy wheels, but thats more expertise painting job than what I am capable of.

Talking of 4x4 and boats, after all , all following threads should link in to the previous thread.
I use my 4x4 to tow my boat, it is not a Car***n, so I can discuss it on this thread. Although on long journeys you can use it as one, as long as you have a ladder.
See how I can make this thread now have a "Higher" profile...

The 4x4 is great on the slippery slip ways, and now I have a Front towbar on my 4x4, it makes reversing the boat down the slipway a doddle as you can see the trailer in the water, from the windscreen of my 4x4.
The low ratio which engages on the 4x4 gearbox enables lower speed control and better traction on steep and slimey slopes.

Regarding the last item of the above 4x4 post, regarding debriefing, I don't tend to do that in a pub

Plenty of time for that on the boat later after parking the 4x4.

I have avoided making any connection to any "Songs that move you" as this topic is not allowed.

I thought for this thread, " Don't rock the boat...."......... "baby"

When we do set off I say to the wife " We are Sailing"......

When we have finished, we connect the trailer to the 4x4 and recover the boat and tow it home using the 4x4 but no longer in 4 wheel drive.

So is it now a 4x2 or a 2 x4 ?

So for that reason I have to close this thread.
