Welcome mate
When I bought my Patrol I thought long and hard as to which would be the better engine to get and ended up getting the 2.8 but had massive problems with it. I've also seen many early 3.0's have 130k+ miles on them no problems. If I were to go back and do it again I still don't know which is the best option unless you buy a late 2003 onwards, but saying that I might still lean toward a 2.8. I still think the best sounding Trol engine is most definitely the 2.8, with a 3 inch exhaust and a chip it goes great and sounds awesome I think the best thing to do is just get the best overall truck and you will be ok doing all your normal checks. |

Hey I'm Blue.
Great - what now - oh yes, I remember, buy a Patrol. Firstly though, what's the etiquette on where I post if I'm just looking for buying advice, general info or an opinion on a potential Patrol and what problems may be lurkin' - that sort of thing? Are there any members buying guides on here (had a look but nothing obvious but still trying to find my way around)? Thanks |

Means you can post in all the sections now. Take a look in the downloads section in quick links at the top right.
Don't worry about posting in the right place as we have a couple of mods who'll point you in the right direction. |
