hope your wife makes a good recovery i was hit last year by a dutch driver in my village his insurance company tried the 50 /50 approach even after originally saying it was my fault he was parked on a nearside grass verge he pulled out into my path from my left with no indication and admitted it was his fault at the time as he forgot to check behind him i could not avoid hitting his volvo as i had a tipper lorry coming the other way after much time pursuing his insurance they have finally admitted it was his fault and now going to pay me all i have claimed for and my no claims bonus would no be affected as has been said before they like the easy way out

, clearly the other driver was over the double white lines, so without question in the wrong, fight that 50/50 bit all the way, send em a copy of that pic, Rick

Hi mate,
Hope the shock of it all has subsided a little now.
If you are going to fight it, may be worth checking if the other car had a EDR fitted, lots of modern cars do these days but not always known about.

Well there is a local councillor got in on the case now. She is a driving instructor and also a senior member of BRAKE a road safety organisation. Cant really say lot more until she has seen the photos but it is sounding like she is on our side.

I copied that pic and looked at it in more detail the right way up, be interested to know if your Mrs mounted the footpath to try and avoid the on coming car, I would say she did as I have dificulty in accepting that the other car shunted your near 2 tonne motor so square onto the footpath, Rick

She's sore today and feeling a little embarrassed because the local paper have run an article on the incident. Good news is she is already making plans to get her next Terrano

Very sorry to hear the incident but good to know your Mrs is on the way to recover as well as in a thought to get another Terrano. Hope she can get recover soon.

Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.
