This is where Debs and I fall out, she likes the well specified sites, I'd stop in the middle of an empty field...............

Guess where we end up most of the time

Well we aint had a holiday for several years now so it really wont change much for us other than make us think twice about the odd day out. Have to say though I'm seriously wondering if we can afford to sell the T2 and get something smaller. One of the reasons we kept the T2 was in the hope we'd get another van, well that isn't going to happen.

Jim

must be honest my missus runs one of these ecomotive thingys

Its cool as hell with decent trim, climate, blacked out windows, looks more sporty than it is!!! can still manage the ton easily. Comfy for me at over 6ft

BUT gets incredible fuel economy and zero road tax

I have been tempted but we'd have to let the caravan go

Maybe we should try that with our old award sunstar. Don't think it'll be the same after

trading trucks for cars, what after theyve just got you thru all that snow??

shame on you!

we get about same mpg towing as solo any way, though this year might not
go as far as last year, might see if can keep with in yorkshire after all plenty
to go at...

tbh i dont think about fuel cost too much. just keep filling it up.

5 years ago we were in west high lands of scotland, not sure if fuel protests
on then too but on skye and in sticks was 135p a litre, was great to get
back to yorkshire and see it around 125p, so now its 129.9p at local garage
not that bad considering nearly 6 years later?

we avoid big commercial and noisey club sites, club rallies and cl's
many with electric can be had for £5-10 a night still.

Its highly unlikely to happen. Its just we didnt use the caravan very much at all this year due to personal circumstances.

Thats going to change this year and i dont think a leon ecomotive would make it to the end of the road with or lump on the back

if we dont use the van I cant really justify running a grand cherokee however much I like it.

Im having an economy drive at the mo . less harsh acceleration, beter anticipation etc etc and managing at least 32mpg average per tank full...............the jeep survives

I emailed to Nick Clegg about road pricing. (Bearing in mind that this is all dressed up as "green" measures - which is rubbish of course, it's all about tax tax tax).

He replied that the idea is that we all go by train.

I asked him how I would tow my caravan behind a train. No reply.

I emailed again and said that instead of taking caravan holidays in the UK maybe I should sell the car and fly abroad on holidays? If the environment is the government's main consideration why are flights so cheap? Errr, no reply...

I'll still be caravanning, how else would I be able to take my dog and all my toys on holiday with me?
