Dave, I think you are going to fit in very well with this club, good luck with your hunt for a suitable vehicle.
Having spent your £10 before buying one, you could easily save more than that in the long run, if not already.
Most members buy one, have a few problems, look for a suitable forum, and then start to fix it with our advice.

Welcome onboard.

again, thanks to all, and I'll keep you all informed of the progress and post some pictures of my purchase as and when it's here...
Many of us just use brand new cooking oil straight from the can, so no need to worry about filtering, just changing the fuel filter on the car each service.

With cooking oil from Costco/Bookers etc. at £12.30 for 20l, I can put up with smelling like a fish and chip shop, especially as I only smell it when I reverse into a parking space.. Actually I say I can put up with it, the only time it is really a problem is when we are on a late night KSAR shout, and after a couple of miles crawling along on a road search, we all start to feel really hungry... I am not allowed to be the lead vehicle any more as the searchers find it hard to concentrate on looking around when their tummies are rumbling

Only applies to the Trols as they were sorted by the time Nissan started putting them into the Terrano (around 2003 I think). Some of the earlier 3.0 Trols are fine but it's very much pot luck.

That would go some way to explaining why the linked Terrano above is so cheap.
Just renewed tax on my '05 T2, £290!

The only benefit I can find with paying that much is the muppets who have a pop at me when cycling about not paying road tax!!!

I have had a look at the DVLA tax related web page and this is a caveat at the bottom of one of the tables....

http://carfueldata.dft.gov.uk/

* Band K includes cars that have a CO2 figure over 225g/km but were registered before 23 March 2006

which is why some are £290 and some are £500 +

Congratulations!

You've just put something back into the forum!

Thanks for that, I reckon that there's a few of us on here who were wondering how that difference in tax came about.

I think you will find most votes will go for warn Prop Shaft UJ's, if you have already checked the wheel balancing.

Eyup Bash and welcome aboard. If yours is a truck built after 2000 then I reckon it’s likely to be you front propshaft. I removed mine until I got it sorted, it disabled 4wd but made the truck more comfortable and a relatively easy way to eliminate a lot of things.
The pre 2000 trucks had auto locking hubs so the front transmission did not turn all the time and also the UJs had grease nipples on to so hardly ever if at all gave problems. After 2000 nissan gradually moved over to fixed hubs which by their nature turns all the front transmission from the rotation of the front wheels so therefore caused more wear and tear especially UJs that no longer came with grease nipples.
I replaced both UJs on the front propshaft which didn’t fix the problem even though the bearings in the UJs were rusted out. My issue and I’ve seen it since was a sliding joint on the propshaft. Sadly this could not be replaced so I got a shaft from an earlier truck which fixed it. With mine I could feel movement and hear a small click when I reached under the truck and grabbed the shaft and shook it.

Good luck
