Caught by the Fuzz AGAIN !

interesting about the bulge part, as til recently and for about 25 years
prior to that First South Yorkshire buses and their predecessors Mainline
and before that South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive had a
fleet of upto 400 Dennis Dominator double deckers that bulged like good
'uns so either their square bodies were too narrow or the axles or offsets
to wide/great.

And tread or not even the bulge could throw plenty of muck up the body
sides. Frankly as originally part of a council run operation with their own
testing facilities I suspect they could do what ever they liked, frankly still
do...

The bottom line is this...

Once ya cars marked you either :-

1.Sell it > Cant due to time & cash already spent on it
2.Register in somebody else's name > To late & that could open a hole different tin or worms
3.Make sure the 4B is 101% Road Legal > Easiest & safest option & the look on there face when theres nout wrong with it.

Also,once you know its all hunky dory,if there NOT traffic or VORSA then as they look round your car, do the same to theres & if they want to look inside,lock & tell em to get a warrant as with no listing of drug or violence offenses then theres no need for a search

I got stopped by a young WPC because of my prominent bulge. She took down my particulars and requested a DNA sample....

I wouldnt let anyone called Vorsa near my car, sounds like someone who's just left the cast of star trek the 25th generation.

As far as believing only Vorsa and his mate Traffic can search a vehicle give your head a shake

Hello boys, nice to see this thread still bumbling along!
Just got back from 4x4 response course which was fun, I was the only Jap in a field of 30 Landies Nay matter, I did the driving bit in 2 wheel drive while Discos were getting stuck all over the place
Anyway, my truck got scrutinised as it's required to be legal etc for responding, and it flew through with no probs.
I specifically asked about the wide wheel thing and I was pointed to several others there with similar "bulges" Anyway the "Legalities" of this are clear, it's the TREAD that needs covering per law, BUT, makes no odds if plod wants he'll do me for dangerous condition. Simples.
So I've taken some more pics of the truck today while parked on the level and will send them to plod , as they show clearly the tread is covered. That way I can argue the "dangerous condition" bit with the judge
The pics will also prominently show the 4x4 response stickers too

Well I wont be, the insurance co. will I hope I've paid them for legal cover I'm sure, so as they agreed my wheels(and have pics of them) they can defend me

Traffic = Traffic Copper

Dont know how different areas operate but here in shit rat race Essex & London you don't argue with Traffic Cops or VORSA who will happily pull a LGV to a scooter.!

Double check, they may not. Most standard policies cover dispute only connected with claims and not road worthiness or offences
