Our annual load of swallows has returned and I have to keep the corvids at sensible levels so the chicks don't get stolen from the nests.

While I had the .22 out I remembered this thread so thought I better get a pic of it.

It has a "Rimfire Magic" semi-auto action with a fairly light trigger pull with adjustable travel, a buffered receiver which is bedded into a Hogue rubber overmould stock with a floating "Green Mountain" match barrel. Moderated and with a Hawke scope. I only use Winchester subsonic rounds and it'll put bullet on bullet at 75yds.

That is a nice gun fella, I've actually been to Rimfire magic hq ages ago.

I do a fair bit of stalking and fox control. I used to shoot a lot of pheasant, but I've kind of lost the lust for it now and just mainly stick to stalking and pest control now. I have A-bolts in 22-250, .270 and a CZ452 in .22, as well as my White Diamond 12b

I have the same stock on my 10/22... It feels great in the hand and I never feel like I'd let it slip on a wet day!

Talking Dirty Harry Magnum

This post has reminded me of an amusing little incident back in 1984/5.
At that time the Underground Range at Police HQ would let members of the public use the Range one evening a week if accompanied by a member. I sometimes took a mate with me. You could take your own gun provided you produced your Firearms Certificate or you could use one of the Gun Club Weapons - mainly S&W 0.38 6 inch revolvers.

I used to go just before my Police Test was due to keep my eye in as a score of less than 38 out of 40 would lead to suspension as an Authorised Firearms Carrier. (It's a much harder test now I think).

Anyway this particular evening there was a bloke on the range next to me and he had this fantastic looking handgun a Polished Chrome / Stainless Magnum and every time he fired the thing the noise would make me jump even wearing the ear defenders.

I fired my 6 rounds and he emptied his magazine at his target. When the target were wound up to us I found 8 holes in my target ! His was a neat zero not a round had hit his target.
