Out with the headunit

All the angles

Not sure if this code is useful in any way, but if you look around the casing the front of the radio is secured to the rest of the stereo with x4 T8 security screws

If you wind these out you can separate the front of the stereo which in turn will expose the ribbon connecting the stereo to the LCD screen, I'd been advised by an old school CB modder that if I heat up the ribbon really hot with the hair dryer and then press and follow the lines on the ribbon with an eraser on the end of a pencil it should sort out any issues I'm having with the digits not showing on the display.

AMAZING!!!!! It's only gone and fixed it!!!! Before and after below

I don't know how to be clearer than that mate lol, that yellow ribbon, get into it and heat it up with a hair dryer and press the lines with the rubber on a pencil hard, it bridges any gaps in the conenctions

So are you saying press the rubber along the visible length of the ribbon cable or along the joints to press the joints into the display and circuit boards.

Sadly this fix hasn't worked for mine, tried redoing three times and getting it as hot as I could but to no avail. Worth a try though.

After pay day I'll have a nosey at Halfords, can get discount there now too so fingers crossed.

Must all be in the mechanic carrying out the task

Time will tell, I'm waiting for the temp to drop before I really become smitten
