tbh i have feared this, as can see day in day out its same old names posting.

also when go into member list how many never post or get beyond 'hi' or their
first question. maybe they are happy watching and trawling forums for existing
advice.

I would suggest members raise any issues, or where they feel club /site is short
either by pm'ing admin or a mod or posting openly in threads like this.

we really dont bite, well not very hard lol, and just want to see this place get
better.

I'm a reformed LR driver and fairly new to the club. If I don't post every night, I am trawling the site every night. I have found everyone to be very welcoming, friendly and full of good advise for my silly "I've just bought a Maverick" questions.

I've said before, but I'll say it again... I'm also a member of The Discovery Owners Club. They have Local Sections, (usually arranged by County), that have Monthly Meets, (usually at a Pub). The section is run by a Local Section Rep. This way Members get a local contact, meet other local members and can arrange their own events, laning days etc. They also still have the benefit of anything happening Nationally.

Right, that's my 10p in.

Cracking site, thank you to everyone, Lee.

thats the point i was trying to make all along, as a varied bunch of people from varied backrounds etc.

its all well and good me saying my bit and the boss doing his bit. but what really matters is your bit.

what is it you like?
what bit dont you like?
what bit made you join?
what bit makes you want to give up?
what else would you like ?

for me id like
more interactive stuff pics video's or zippy's games

id love a shop merchandise and parts for sale you could even buy your sevice kits here (new idea)you could even have a full blown shop snorkels tyres anything really and you order paypal then wait for your bits to arrive via the club

i want to learn all i can cos i got a mav and i bloody love it

i dont like nit picking i get that at home anyway dont need more
same as texting the wife, you say something in text and they miss interpret it, then she gets grumpy . i suppose its the same here sometimes using text... as rag says having to ones tongue is best

i liked it before and i love it now

Well, first post since I joined. Have still to pick up my first Terrano 2, hopefully after Christmas. It's a 96 2.7TD, I'll mainly be using it for in and out to work, hunting and general get around. Previously had a Pajero 2.5 SWB and was a member on there, good site ,lots of help and advice on problems, really useful stuff. I find here is perhaps a little more like a chat room, although a friendly chat room. Would like to see more on the problem solving side , although the articles and how to's with pictures are very good. Perhaps the relatively small number of posts on repairs etc is because the Terranos and Mavericks are so reliable. I can't wait to get mine and give it a good look over, I didn't really have a good look at it and don't know for certain which engine is in it, guessing it's the 2.7TD but need to have a proper look when I pick it up. Don't recall seeing an Intercooler on it and it doesn't have an air scoop. Anyway I hope this site keeps growing and would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas and a great New Year.

well, I like the club pretty much as it is, and that doesn't mean there should not be any changes as I am pretty much up for anything.

I like the pub chat area, people don't allways agree but then they dont do that off line either do they?

I think that it is a friendly place with a lot of positive points and even when people dont agree it can be positive, I think the thing is to just not join in a thread you are not happy with and go and start or join in another ;-)

On line as in real life, the P.M. critiscisms behind each others backs, and petty foot stamps and leaving, and cyptic critiscism like 'i'm not naming names but!' do more harm to the club on line and off than actualy geting you point of view out there and talking it through! I wonder how many peole get paranoid over such comments and feel they are being the victim of a P.M. conversation? when in reality the person you are aiming it at either doesn't realise, or doesn't care!

I'm not syain I know best, as i don't but I have been here a while and have seen some dedicated and loyal members and friends leave over P.M. fall outs, and behind closed doors stuff.

It does appear though that the hard core of members who keep posting is slowly growing, and they stay regardless of anyhting that is said or done, those who can stand a little dispute from time to time and keep moving forward! life is full of ups and downs, and the club would not be here at all if everyone threw the towel in at the first posting they didn't like the look of would it?

SO LETS STOP back biting about back biting, and get on with it!

I have allways thought that one of the signs of a real friend is that you can 'fall out' without falling out' and that the first harsh words dont mean the end of everything, take the wife for example;-)

We can thrash out an agreement or heatedly agree to differ, alongside all the friendly banter it is all part of the rich tapetry of communication that makes this community.

I think when you get agreement from people, it is nice when you know it doenst come from people who just agree to everyhting to keept the piece and can be confident they will express the opinion they hold.

Everyone joins for different reasons, and it is therefore wise to keep a variety of posting 'styles' to keep everyone interested.

I must admit though i find the lack of anything at the old club address is not good, if it had been kept with a 'redirecting too' message or simmilar for a while it might have been better?

Hi Plank, what do ya mean m8. When I go to the old .co.uk address it redirects me to the new front page. Have I got the wrong end of the stick again.

I joined the club when I bought my Mistral to get info on servicing etc,

But this club has become much more,

My mistral runs great so no need for the info (Touch Wood),

I dont feel the need to post all the time as there are much more knowledgeable people on here, but if I think I can help I will !.

I enjoy having a look in to see whats going on in a regular basis.

Great Club ( More of the same)

John
