this is the way I do it, undo the nuts and crack the tapers, then lock the hub from moving (g cramps, bits of wood whatever you have available) once locked remove the old link and offer the replacement it must be adjusted to drop in exactly with no stress whatsoever, bobs your uncle job done, if track was good before it will be the same now with one proviso if the original was very sloppy then get it tracked, Rick

Thanks for that Rick.
Tracking has been adjusted all from one side at present to stop tyre wear, so it tracks true, but steering wheel is off centre (driving me crackers ) They haven't charged me for that, as soon as I have rods on it'll go back and have it all sorted. |

My local tyre house never got my 05 plate centred either. It was very annoying to say the least and it scrubbed the new tyres too. Only part of steering that wasn't replaced was steering box.

A little tip to anyone fitting these soon, before you fit cut an old inner tube into lengths the size of the thread in the middle, slide it on and secure tightly at one end with a cable tie, squirt your grease gun inside a few times then pinch the tube the other end and cable tie off tightly again.
Next time you come to have your tracking done the guys in the tyre place will moan like hell that the tie rods are greasy but then when they realise they can release them with a spanner and not have 3 guys hanging off them with a bar in the air they soon shut up Just watch them if you off road a lot that they don't get pierced, easy to slip a new one on though, I know it seems like effort but anything to add life to my parts and I'm game
