Agreed Alex you had right of way. That said I agree about letting her in, personally I would rather have the idiots in front of me then I can see what they are doing.

I agree with that... it won't be long before they are terrorising another motorist further up the queue, and they will still be in front of you...
They will get their comeuppance, it can't be nice for them driving like a pratt, they must be stressed to hell, rather than relaxed when driving.
They are a danger to themselves and to others.

Would you really want to swap lives with them and live like that? No!
So why not feel sorry for them instead... and be satisfied with what "you" have.

Don't get me wrong Rustic, they still annoy the hell out of me but it's far less stress and hassle to let them get out of the way. I always hope karma catches up with them but at the same time hope they don't take some poor sole with them.

I know it's annoying when idiots are swapping and changing lanes just get another car length closer to their destination but like others have said it's not worth risking an accident for.
Had the same issue on Friday when I took the mrs to hospital for an appointment.
The stretch of the A38 from junction 28 to Mansfield has loads of traffic lights which change from one to two lanes and then back to one so there is always lane barging when it merges.
I usually stay in the inside lane as nine times out of ten I end up in front of the idiots who are swapping lanes trying to get ahead.
That's how driving seems to be now days not a relaxed enjoyable experience.

Nah, if you let to many in Alex, word will get round that the silly looking 4x4 with the tooth pick on the front, lets anyone in and you won't get anywhere mate.

I will always let one car in front of me, when they are in the wrong lane and most do it all the time and will see how far they can jump the queue, sorry lads, but if I can sit in a queue...so can they.
Most buses have cameras that record vehicles in bus lanes too, in Reading, the council make thousands £££££ out of idiots that abuse them

I'd rather have the nutters in front of me where I can see them, than behind.

On the basis that I am a bit precious about my machines, I do not argue with anyone who wishes to get just one car's length in front.......no point....to much stress......I know you can argue about who has the right of way, but if it results in stress, injury or damage......no thanks. Being a biker as well, I drive and ride defensively, in a sort of 360deg `bubble`. I remember an old traffic cop I knew, telling me I only had to worry about two people on the road, the idiot in front and the one behind.......being a biker I would add the ones either side as well......
Out here the driving is appalling, far too fast, and far too close, with atrocious overtaking....cutting out and in too short.........more than 5 cars and it's congested......I don't miss nose to tail traffic, as I think that's where a lot of accidents occur.
