I cant slate the 3.0 as I have no experience of it, but the 2.7 is a train! No chain or belt and no dual mass malarky! And it runs in veg if you so choose

Less fuel economic than the 3.0 but the 3.0 cant run on veggie so 2.7 wins on cost if you plan to be a veggie man

Chain shouldn't ever be an issue on the 3.0 as it only runs the cams (everything else is gear driven) and according to cncfabs the 3.0 Terrano is a solid flywheel, only the Trols were lucky enough to be blessed with a DMF...

As above bud it's just the cams driven by a chain. The chain drives off the pump but the pump itself is gear driven as is everything else in the 3.0 engine
