Its what he didn't find that concerns me more than what he did
I have done every conceivable job with the underside of my car. and it is very tidy. I even got underneath with him to try and find faults myself as id rather know now than have trouble while im out. he was trying to talk to a bloke at one point and was shouting I cant hear you over this tickover my machine is a noisy twat. but its not the tick over its the lay shaft bearing and 600 rpm tick over he couldn't hear over. the thing that bothers me is he didn't spot the broken wishbone shim. point out the rattly gearbox. lazy tick over. or even recommend me fixing my crankseal oil leak. not mot fails but don't you think he wanted business? luv my truck. best alround car i ever had |

Where I take mine they are stricked & will point out any little jobs that either need doing or will need doing which aren't part of the MOT & it's the only garage I trust 100% as I used to work there. This year had to use another garage as the MOT tester had sadly died & the boss was in hospital after having a heart attack yip sure enough my astra failed on a track rod end which I knew was going & on front brake pipes, ok they were 11 year old factory fitted but they would have been fine for easy another year if not more & were covered in underseal so you couldn't tell anyway another garage around here would fail a brand new car on brake pipes failed my mates on then funny thing was they had all be replaced 6 months earlier with copper he mentioned it & got told oh bring it back in & we'll have another look at them err no & he went straight down to the VOSA test station & it passed without any problems but handed over the fail sheet so they could look into it

sorry matey I didn't notice the brake light was out.
I know what your saying about things that it should fail on.my compression rod bushes are all splitting and there wasn't even a mention of it on the test. its on my to do list along with a few other bits and bobs. |

Chuffed for you mate!!!!!! I envy you guys that have MOT's around christmas, very risky game, also if there are any jobs that need doing coming up to it, as we all leave them to the last minute it means us clambering round on the floor in the cold and wet
May you have another 12 months of motoring
