ok chaps, finally sorted my insurance. MakeItFit suggested "splitting" my no claims, but I found that my current insurer wont do that. Then I found there is such a thing as "mirroring" the No Claims Discount. Turns out, quite a few insurers will do this so I did some quick research and read that Sky Insurance do it. I contacted then and they confirmed they had the "facility". Spoke to them tonight, got a fully comp quote with 9 years NCD for £420. Not the best I have read people have on here, but way better than the quotes I have been getting.

I still need to read all the fine print etc which Is on its way in the post - no idea how the NCD is affected come a claim etc, but we will see.

Yes admiral multicar do this as well, when we bought our Alfa before selling my wife's car they mirrored my 7yrs NCD onto the new car and we insured the 3 cars until we sold the other one, was really impressed they did this because quotes with 0yrs NCD are frightening!!

That is good, even AF are not insuring some under 25s on modded cover.

Heres a strange one , had the maverick insured no probs , rang them up on friday to change to the terrano , fully expecting it to go up as per , then got told they wouldnt insure me because it was a VAN !
Rang the brokers up that we use for work they also said it was showing up as a van and gave me a quote of £1700 ...... non of that so gets home on the pc , meerkats didnt recognise the reg , near panic is starting to set in ,lets try confused ....bingo jobs a good un and fully insured .

Even more bizzare the company that insured the mav were 3rd on the list , work that lot out

Paying £580 fully comp with protected no claims (12 years) & covered for green laning but I do live in a bad post code my parents live a mile up the road & if I insured it as living there the price would drop £100-200 now this makes me can insure an Escort Cosworth for £450 fully comp now the cossy is a hell of a lot faster & more likely to get nicked

It's crazy, to insure the 2.2 Astra Coupe I had it cost £20 a year to insure more than a 1.2 Clio no wonder I bought the Coupe so old Ford's are cheap to insure then loved my modded Capri (Terrano handles the same) when it comes to 4x4's it's a case of they think of a number & double it sure they think we're made of money
