What version of IE are you running?
I'd give chrome a go, it's not too power hungry. Only way to install would be putting it on a memory stick then transferring it to the laptop. Try this: http://www.pchell.com/support/cannotdownloadfiles.shtml . |

Firefox is a great browser. But obviously if you were able to download using IE.Then i would uninstall IE,and reinstall it,(maybe with a later one)Details on how to do this can be found on Google.I would also check to make sure no virus or Malware is on your machine. If you do have any Virus or Malware, then doing a restore is a waste of time.Unless you no for sure of the restore date/time of a restore point where it would be clean.
Like Clivvy, and others,i too could access your machine remotely. But since i am a relative new member. Then perhaps Clivvy is your best option if you choose that route. But i would try another browser,it would help to (find eliminate problems) I never did like IE. |

Have you checked to make sure there is actually any space left on the drive you are downloading to? Try to download something tiny to see, and try different locations on the machine in case you've lost the rights to save in the default one?

I'm home again now. I have ooddles of space. Can't download ANYTHING, otherwise I would have tried Chrome and or Firefox Didn't think about the mem stick thing. i'll give it a go in a cup of tea's time The lappy used to run Chrome no probs, I just got rid of all junk as this little machine is destined to be a glorified calculator and will never normally be online at all. It seems the battery must have completely died as when I rebooted it last week I had to do the XP service pack3 thing all over again |
