Definitely replace the keyboard. If you're willing to have a go:
http://bit.ly/HU8Rwr The laptop is still a pretty good spec

Hi Pete, sorry couldnt answer phone whilst i was at work. I'd agree with Clivvy and see what he can find you, think you've had your monies worth and for an Advent to last 6 years you've done very well.
All The Best Guy's I'll be turning red soon. But before that I'm off to see if I can find one of pouch thingys Jim |

Why not just add a keyboard and a monitor and use it like that. Use the Lappy as as work station.

Briggie, if Clivvy can't find anything I might have something you could use as a stop gap solution - I have an old Dell laptop, very high spec in its day, being repaired just now at a cost of £90. After my kid's finished his exams in the end of May I'll probably flog it.
Meantime, I have at least one old Toshiba that works, it's a bit slow and runs Windows 2000 but it does go okay - hasn't got a CD rom drive built in as it was an ultra light in it's day, but I have a PC Card CD rom drive that works in it. More than welcome to it, just so you can type spaces again! Can you use the on screen keyboard to get a spacebar - not ideal but easier on our eyes! |

What you need is a Radio Amateur. They'll have it fixed for you in no time.
