if you turn the ign off the ecu shuts down and the maf and the rest of the electrical crap on there, the engine does rev up before it shuts down though

So will it fire up with a jump pack when hot? Will it bump start when hot?

How fast is it spinning over on the starter when hot?

I dont think we are getting accurate symptoms on this....

it started with jump pack at the garage don't know about bump start i wouldn't try it unless theres no other choice,i think its spinning over fast enough compared to the y60 2.8 i had but it don't turn it over for long about 20 seconds and its slowing down,i'm going for a new batt a varta 830cca instead of the oldham 720cca ,they now want me to drive 20 mile each way to get the oldham tested for the warrantee and if i do they prob come out with a load of rubbish and not replace it

OK that seems to eliminate a sticking solenoid, if it starts hot with an extra battery on, then I suspect a bad connection/earth, there are multiple earth straps on these motors and although I fail to understand why, they must be there for a reason, as Timbo says I think we are not getting the full story here tho, Rick

car starts fine when cold stop it when its hot and start within a few seconds it starts but if you leave it 10mins to 30 mins ish it don't start it seems to be turning over fast enough (my old y60 2.8 would have started) but the turning over only lasts about 15/20 seconds before it slows down,if you leave the car for an hour + it starts ok again,no error codes showing at nissan garage,i'm going to put another new batt on with more power and see how it goes (not an oldham battery this time because there warrantee is a waste of time)
