Lets not start competing organisations here
The legion, HfH, SSAFA and newer groups like snowdrops all work together for a common aim. Snowdrops actually hit on one of my pet hates. That is how the forces often bin you once theyre finished with you. I wont bore you with examples but Ive seen several awful examples. Good luck with the scheme snowdrop |

Oh, I would SO love to do that trip. I have a caravan, and go touring regularly, but only in this country so far.
I am saving up for when I retire, then I'm going to take the 'trol (which will be properly restored by then and a caravan, and whichever dog or dogs I have at the time, and go to Europe, and drive. And drive, and drive. I'd like to see Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, Sweden, Norway (not in that order)... India. |

We intend being caravan dwellers for a significant part of the year when we retire (not just fair weather). One of those Aus vans would be the muts bits for us. |

wonder if give my abbey spectrum a lift to match the troll.
mind some of those americian trailers (caravans) have more ground clearance even in standard road going spec. think that oz unit could do with a pto to power trailer's axles in roughest stuff. believe landrover and military toyed with such as set up with mixed results.

Just out of interest, with the price of fuel going up like it is how many people are put off towing the tin hut on wheels?
I used to have a van and would love another one but now that diesel is going up like it is I'm not so sure about them anymore. How long before just a simple day trip to the seaside will be out of the question too. Jim |

Hi Jim, the way we look at it is that the costs have gone up but then so have the costs of all other holidays.
when i started out caravaning (1984 ) it was a cheap holiday, it isnt now but its still good value plus of course you get to drive long in front of Pete |

One way I look at the big car argument is that if I didnt have the Jeep Id have somthing a bit sporty, Focus ST or similar. They use similar amounts of fuel and cost at least as much to run |

I think it's going to have most effect on those already on a tight budget! I must admit the cost of comeerical sotes over the last few years has soared! I don't use sites anymore. I'm not paying £20 plus per night to rent a few square yards of grass it's a flipping rip off.
