Dont get this bit about kilometers, as you listed the distance in KILOMETERS but then listed the consumption in MILES PER GALLON

you used metric and imperial instead of just one unit of measure

Thinking about it you missed a trick there

Karl as you should of listed both in KILOMETERS as the Kilometers per gallon would of been a larger number,

but then again it should be listed as kilometers per litre but the number would be smaller

as you shouldnt mix met and imp together in the same calculation

You wernt trying to kid us were you ???? that you did a big diatance on little fuel

so i make it 30.1mpg and the mav did it at 23.3mpg so the big horn is better by just 6.8mpg then ur mav i use 1 gallon = 4.456 litres not bad for a big truck

i forgot to add the 9 on the calc and it came back with 30.74

i dont know with a car that weights 1950kg and is as streamline as a brick thought that was kinda good compared to the mavs

my mav arround town wasnt a problem its when i hit the motorway it just didnt like it one bit

i would get arround 110 miles to £20 and if i was off playing on lanes and things it would go up slightly as i would only be in tick over at time

i do know bfg muds make a noise on the road tho lol

Mines definately better on the longer runs but I dont hammer it at 68/70 mph as I prefer to amble along at 60 ish as it suits me being more use to travelling at 56 whilst in the trucks, plus I find this keeps me out of trouble
its funny how many times Ive been ambling along minding my own business and I ve looked at the speedo and its around 57/58 its habit I suppose

And before anyone says I normally travel at night in my own motor so I dont cause anyone any problems and the idiots are tucked up in bed

It comes with age, trust me, plus I took out the lead weight in me boot,

In fact when I had the 8.1 lt chevy RV i drived in slippers (only for comfort lol), best was 14 mpg on cruise in spain on motorway at 63 mph worst was 3.6 mpg stuck in traffic around Bruxells ringroad

Now there was a engine 1st service interval 100000 miles not including oil and filter and that was just to tighten the belts up....

Did 76k in it in 25 mnths and never missed a beat in temps from -32 up on the edge of the artic circle to 130 in the shade in morrocco

Fabulous,

Best times ever 30 plus countries in 25mnths and loads of memories, the government cant tax or take them away from me for sure

Not bad mate!

I always work things out as how many miles you get to a tenner. Makes it easy to compare differences between petrol / diesel / gas as they are all different prices and consumptions.

According to my working you got 56.71 miles to £10 of diesel.

On a run I used to get about 70 miles to £10 of gas in my old Maverick, but then gas is half price of petrol, so had I been running on petrol i'd have got about 35 miles to £10... That makes yours look pretty impressive!

DAVED - I'm with you on the big engine, auto box, light foot thing! Last week I did a couple of lengthy runs. Filled up to start with and afterwards. Did exactly 160 miles on £29 of gas...

THATS 55 MILES TO £10.

With an empty car transporter trailer on the back!

Dont know how that converts to mpg etc but if its costing me a similar cost to Karls Derv Trooper but i'm running a 4 litre auto... i'm happy with that!!!
