Having looked in my shed where I thought it might be I can't find it. Wasn't 100% sure it was ever there.

Some pics of my Mav, I knew nothing about the type of car, there was snow on the ground I needed a 4x4, the Mav was on a dealers site £995 3 years ago, it looked tidy so I bought it. Only rust I could find was under the bonnet adjacent the headlights, surface only and survived a poke with a screwdriver
How do I put more than 1 pic up at a time

Thanks for that Fez, looks like I'm sorted, but any problem and I'd appreciate you having a search for me,
Cheers

Only work I have needed so far is to clean the mini filter twice.
The filter was blocked when I got it, no guts max revs 2000, may have affected the price, dealer fixed it after protest, by then I had joined the club and found workshop 10,
Printed it out and gave to the garage he dealt with.
Brilliant blokes, if you are near my patch and need a good garage, try Probert Motors London Road Westcliff
Changed all fluids at purchase and at correct intervals since, washed it once.
Liberal waxoil underneath
I does not like veg, even at 50/50 veg/diesel, water in fuel light come on,

I've been looking but not found anything that isn't rotten and a lot of money yet. Pretty much given up on the search now.
This one looks worth checking out.

I didn't go in my shed, I just said that.
I was too busy guarding my truck in case you turned up clutching a 12mm spanner.

I thought long and hard about buying either an Xtrail or a Terrano, eventually decided Xtrail pretty much just on fuel economy.
Bought a nice Xtrail but after a short time the wheel bearing was making a noise. Fixed that (which isn't an easy job) and then the other side went. Fixed that, which was still not an easy job but at least I now knew how to do it. Broke 2 sets of pullers in the process!

Left it parked for a few days and when I came to use it there was an awful noise from the engine. Diagnosed as oil pump failure/worn. Strange really because there was no warning.
Got that fixed at a garage as i felt it was beyond me.
Then the timing chain and tensioner went, another £300!!

As far as I know there is nothing wrong with the car now. You could argue that as I have fixed everything it will now last donkeys years without trouble. Basically I have lost all faith and confidence in it and having given it a lot of thought have decided to sell it.
A chance you take on any 2nd hand car, may be that the new Terrano goes bang next week.

Shame about the Xtrail as it really is a nice car. Very spacious both as a passenger and in luggage capacity. The fold flat boot is brilliant!
Car tootles along at 80mph effortlessly, very easy to drift up to 90 without noticing.
Does 33mpg and is practically silent compared with a Terrano. Off road is not quite as good as Terrano but as good as most people could ever need. They are very popular in Australia which must say summat.

Trouble is, all the money it could have saved in a year on fuel has already been spent on repairs.
