Kind regards

For the cost of that to happen all over again you might aswell get a fabricator to make a decent one?

Also Rustic its 4 10mm bolts eh not 6

Are you meaning the plastic steering guard? Must have been a hell of a hole!

If it's the plastic guards under the gearbox and the transfer box forget 'em. About as much use as cardboard and all they'll do is collect crap and brush and create a fire hazard due to the heat coming off gearbox and transfer box.

They removed them from the Aussie Y61s as they were causing so many vehicle fires.

Rustic can you get me picture of that because I fancy doing that Mod if I have the same stuff under mine to drill into

More better for the purpose of maintainance, would be much speedier to remove when working on the car doing jobs too

Just drill out and re tap the existing holes.
Mine used to be m6 but after they sheared off I drilled them out and tapped them to m8.
An 8.8 grade m8 bolt has a shear factor of around 2 1/2 metric tons.
Plenty strong enough

Think Alex has dropped a bolt both my old 1999 & this 2005 both have had 5 bolts holding the bash plate on 3 at the front & 2 at the rear bot sure what size the bolts are classed as but they have 10 or 11mm head on i've copper greased the bolt threads to try & stop them from rusting in place & shearing off when I need to remove them as that happened on the old truck

Yes I lost the steering and sump guard in one go, was at a pay & play they had dug holes they called tank traps and loads where getting stuck but only really suitable for short wheelbase as mine dropped in and could not lift the front as it was catching towbar at the back, problem with those guards (other than being plastic) is that they are only designed not to catch in a forward direction, so when my car had to come out backwards both of them dug in and pulled away from car and sump had disaperd by the time I got home steering still swings by just front bolts today. My gearbox one does not move as it is packed solid with mud.

Kind regards

Russell.
