Wow thats bad, My 96 plate mav is in better condition.

How did you not spot this when you bought it??? or was it cheap?

How much MOT is left on it?

That is one hell of a lot of rust I see the box sections on trailers used to launch boats into the sea look like that all the time but not many cars.
If it is your car I'm very surprised that new MOT is legitimate.
Unless you got it cheap I would be taking it back quick smart and reporting it.

that's the worst ive ever seen, and its right there for all to see - the MOT station needs reporting mate. I am not sure I would trust the rest of the structure on that car, could be twisted or bent.

How do & welcome along

I feel for you mate. Never buy any vehicle without a good look around it.

I don't think I've ever seen a chassis so bad. My old 280ZX wasn't that bad, when I welded it up.
I'd be surprised if you'd find any good steel to weld to for quite distance

Welcome to the site, I wouldn't worry about the vibration at speeds over 50 mph, I wouldn't want to be in that vehicle at speeds above 10 mph, with a chassis in that condition.
As said, looks like it has seen some salt water splashing, sea causeways or seaside expeditions.

That needs a priest, not a welder. I'd surpised if there was anything to weld to!
That's schocking!

I have good chassis if you want to change one over, lots of work though, but others on here have removed body cleaned and protected the chassis and rebuilt, Rick

Not a bad shout Rick to be fair and with the money he has got back from the seller it's feasible and I'd certainly help him out with it

Sounds like you know what your doing but please do report this as it seems you have dodged a bullet this time getting some cash back. The next person may pay a higher price than losing a bit of cash.
Myself I would be report it even if it meant losing the car just to stop something worse happening to the next person or the family in the car next to it when it all goes wrong. I have to sleep at night if it was my car letting this go would keep me awake I'm afraid.
There are loads of honest terrano's and mavericks out there you could buy with the £800 you got back and still have a bit of change in your pocket.

There has been some good solid advice given here by others on this and the sister thread. Sorry to say it bluntly but re-read it and if you have not already then do right thing.
