ahhh right! I suspect a reasonably expensive job to do though, perhaps over £100?? certainly something I want doing as we spring into summer...not that I intend going into any major rivers just yet!

he'll need it there is no cheap way of getting a snorkel, not a nice way anyways.... we've all looked into it.

extreme raised air is not easy but its the cheapest way. if snorkels were cheap we'd all have them

hmm..well, I always understood it that snorkels were pretty dear, like a few hundred, which of course makes it too expensive considering I will hardly ever actually make use of it! the whole idea was that if i start green laning/offroading, that i might start using it but we shall see how things develop.

Clivvy....get your tape measure out first before you waste your money....measure the height from the airbox down to the ground, i.e. the height at which water would start to enter the engine potentially. Lets call that (a).

Then measure the distance from the bottom of your doors to the ground, i.e. the height at which water would start to enter the vehicle.........lets call that (b).

Do you see where I'm going with this?......

I ****ed up and had water about 1/2 way up the doors last year , it didnt leak , engine didnt go bang

as the air intake is in the wheel well I think you are ok for a few seconds unless you run out of air.
