Default Anyone know owt about Nokia 5800 Phones

Hi All, has anyone had anything to do with Nokia 5800 mobile phones. Voda have just offered me one as an upgrade. Has anyone tried using one with a Nokia CK7 Car Kit

I've always beena nokia fan but dont know that one sorry.
Why not go on to nokia uk site as you can compare phones side by side. That way it's easy to see if it's worth it or not

Thanks for the replies so far guys. The phone sounds great and seems like a good deal by Voda. The main problem that I have is the car kit, I need two as those earpiece things are rubbish. Typical this new phone does not work with nokia's earlier kit (CK7W) so needs a newer more costly kit. Even the Parrot kits are still lots of cash will have to speak to the wife and see what she thinks. If anyone else sees this post who uses this phone with a car kit I'd love to hear from you.

Jim, I can reccomend these 100% if you need a new car kit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Motorola-HF-850-Bluetooth-Handsfree-System_W0QQitemZ260416808464QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ MobilePhones_MobilePhoneAccessories_MobilePhoneBat teries?hash=item3ca20d2610&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A13 18|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

t'other half and I have one each in our cars and each is onto its second car. After 4 installs I can say without hesitation theyre dead easy to install.

Quite basic but supports voice dialling etc on the appropriate phone.

I have mine set up so as soon as the ignition comes on my nokia e71 links automaticall, I dont have to take it out of my pocket at all. I can accept calls and call out from the little silver gizmo you can see

Works well with Debs blackberry, worked no probs with my nokia 6300 and her samsung slide thingy

They were still in the shops last year at around £100. I think tbh they were only superseded by the parrot type with nifty displays........which you shouldnt be loking at when youre driving anyway

Heres how I installed it:

The mic is bog standard top of the pillar trim, the control goes very neatly in the centre console and the speaker assisted by a piece of double sided tape goes neatly to the left of the foot well

Hope thats of some help to you

Thanks Dave, I've emailed the guy to see if he thinks it will work with the phone. Your wiring is as neat as mine Dave, I've had two previous including the current kit. I like my current kit as it is the proper Nokia craddle that charges it too but it's not BT. Got the kit in both cars and wouldn't be without em, I see so many people without and it annoys the hell out of me.

I had one of the nokia CK's and I liked the charging cradle. problem was though I kept forgetting to take the phone out of the car

Tbh now I do not miss it at all, the phone just stays in my pocket, the battery on it lasts ages and your new one will probably be similar

Good luck with it
