kids home work got them both thinking hard, and Mrs Zippy

took me a bit o time too, till i got it sorted..

On Tuesday, a taxi driver drove 4 times the distance she drove on Monday. Om Wednesday, she drove 20 miles more than on Monday. She drove 350 miles on the three days altogether. How many miles did she drive on Monday?

it goes

x + 4x + x +20 = 350 where x = Mondays mileage

that simplifies to 6x + 20 = 350

then 6x = 350-20

then 6x = 330

then x = 330/6 = 55 miles
