That video is just brilliant. It is the best laugh I have had at work in a long time...

What impressed me most is the cool, calm & collected way the guy acts when he gets his RR stuck on top of some road works and then gets the assembled and watching cap-heads to help him push it out.

Classic stuff and no mistake... please post more!

I just don't get that; five minutes with a spade to shave a few inches off that centre section and they'd be over it easily.....why wreck your truck trying???

Theres no legal green lanes near Yeadon (Leeds Bradford airport), another idiot giving us all a bad name, nice of him to provide a clear shot of his number plate though.

see thats the thing that bothers me this bad name bit.... first of all its not any of us,
but how do we know its not privately owned. so they could be playing in there own land

so lets assume we all follow the lets not bend or break the rules and do it the glass or crap way.... just a few facts then? if the good way is the best way.
exactly how many lanes has crag or glass managed to save?
oh and how many have fallen since the start of this goody two shoes way of thinking?

from what ive seen your not winning any wars with this defensive battle plan

its time people adopted the ramblers approach , the best form of defense is attack the ramblers are winning from what ive seen

the time will come when someone says well lads we lost...
but we lost fairly

Because I have read through the comments posted below it including those from the poster.

Gatescarth in the Lake district pass is a good example of a lane that has been saved - sure you need a pass now and they only issue 120 a year for 4x4s but thats a lot better than closed all together. In fact the whole Lake District National Park is a good example, there were and still are calls from the usual quarters to have MPVs banned from all unsurfaced routes in the Lakes. Instead the whole network was surveyed and the lanes classified by their suitability etc. this info is now available on their website.

Stanage edge - been calls for years to close it to MPV's - but instead a voluntary 1 way system has been put in place and is helpingto reduce the erosion.

Just near hear I've helped to kept a lane open, that was destroyed by contracters working on a national grid pipeline, by applying presure to the relevant council employee. Likewise a lane on the edge of the dales is about to get a repair because one of the other GLASS reps has been pushing that highways dept.

The list is almost endless tbh, it just doesn't make a good headline so you never hear of it. GLASS and CRAG memebrs are regularly out maintining lanes too, from a bit of hedge pruning to a ful surface repair.

Then theres all the lanes that have been sucessfully upgraded to their rightful status of BOAT and those still pending a decision that were protected from loss of MPV rights by NERC by a timely BOAT application by GLASS/CRAG/TRF members and others of course.

The point about youtube etc is it just hands amunition to the anti's on a plate, as do great big scars in the countryside - or lovely muddy ruts as some might call them.

well its good to hear, to be honest im impressed,
but why dont the reps/ members of these organizations promote joining up. instead of just saying those stupid twats or something alike.

we had a similar discussion on our team wales thread april
and we did all discuss it on sunday too.

come on educate us , show us its a good thing. dont moan when we mess up show us there is a better way

start a thread on it .id love to learn and im sure you will convert others too

i dont want to spoil this thread , but honest lets debate this glass crag stuff lets see if its got legs

the whole lot came in a big wooden chest along with shackles and strops .so has been stored well .
i recon the handle would have been with it as well but fell out and was pushed into the stock pile .
have you still got yours?
do you know how long the handle should be extended?
rgds.iandouglas
I'd suggest you need about a 4 foot length, sadly I don't have my tirfor anymore, and the handle was probably 5 foot long. Someone I spoke to used a handle from a tarmac "tamper" on their tirfor, about a fiver in wickes they said, and they just cut the square end off it.
