Can anyone recommend a company that does short term car insurance cover for a few days or month something like that.

The RAC do it.
Never used it but RAC do short term cover.

They all do. Just Google 24hr insurance and away you go. Just remember to send policy to your phone as it wont show up on MIB

Ding Dong, phoned my insurance company and as my policy is due for renewal at end of month they’ll cover me for £12.95 until then.
