Must have included a lot of actual sand in the manufacturing process which is probably the reason they all rot so fast

Censorship never works - the truth is out there!
I guess it's a bit "Animal Farm" 4 cylinders bad (ok) 6 cylinders good (even better).
There was a V8 Diesel engined version of the ML in the UK market from memory it was a ML420 4.0 Litre turbo diesel but could be wrong. I drove a new one from Leicester to Derby and was blown away by the torque that was in 2008. |

All this jeep banter got me thinking the other day so when I had 5 mins I did a bit of research into the history of 4wd vehicles. I was smugly pleased to learn that, yep you guessed it the Japanese invented and produced the first 4wd car. It was called the Kurogane Type 95. It was the world's first four-wheel drive passenger vehicle placed into mass production before the Willys MB (Jeep), which was introduced in 1941, the Daimler Dingo in 1940, the Volkswagen Schwimmwagen introduced in 1942, and the GAZ-61 in 1938. Its nickname is the "Yonki" which in Japanese means "all-wheel drive" In the field, soldiers often called it the "daruma". So all you jeep boys who think you are driving the very origin of the 4x4 think again.Old jap beat you to it Battle_of_Khalkhin_Gol-Captured_Type_95_scout_car.jpg |
