Metric Bolt Question M10 x 90 ish ?
I could do with some new bolts before I have my upper front suspension arms fitted to the Jeep.
For some unknown reason they are a discontinued part so can't get them from Jeep Dealers like I usually would. The bolts are M10 x 90 mm or thereabouts with an un-threaded section of about 45 mm to form a sort of shoulder. It might be that the old ones can be re-used it just depends if they want to come out. Either way I would prefer to fit new ones or have some to fit if they get chewed. I wonder what specification the bolt needs to be for suspension fitment and where can I get some from ? Anyone got any pointers to help me source 4 such bolts. |

How about searching for a local machine shop etc., they would be able to turn you some out of whatever material is needed and to your specs. As for what material, can you see any of the markings on the head of the old bolt?

I would guess at either an 8.8 or 10.9 grade would be used.
If in doubt go for the stronger 10.9 grade. Never use stainless nuts and bolts on suspension or any load bearing parts. |
