New boy.
Hi Nissan owners. Thought I'd join up with the club and share some stories and info. Unfortunately, I originally put this post in the wrong section which shows how useless I am at these things!
Where I live there is actually a large number of 1980s/1990s Nissan Patrols (RD28s with and without turbos) and a beautiful LWB that looks like it has just come out of the factory (unlike my SWB, which has been in a few fights). Fantastically strong car, and all the mechanics I know say that they are better than the modern ones for durability. Weak points: Heater fan, pre-heaters (glow plugs) which make cold starts a bit smoky!!, Prone to a water leak from a stainless steel tee that leaks on the weld. That one cost me a cylinder head skim and new gasket. Replaced tee with plastic. Good points: None. Excellent points: Everything else. I LOVE this car! ...and no, I don't care that it only generates 60hp - she climbs hills easily at 1,200RPM - just grinds her way up there. A TRACTOR! |

Hello bloke!
I think it's time we had an international club meeting! Somewhere away from all this damp weather. Welcome to the fold. |

Hi everyone and thank you for your kind words.
In response to MJB, I have e-mailed a chap I knew years ago who does 4x4 circuits - you know, they get a JCB and dig huge holes out of someone's back garden and then fill them with water. You never know - we might be able to organize a few days trip mud plugging. I think you can probably guess what the Spanish means:..... http://www.javi4x4.com/index.php |

Wider wheels
Hi Banshee
I'd love to be able to afford some fat wheels with country tread (there are a few Patrols around the town with these). One day but I'll have to tocar la loterķa as they say. In fairness, she goes almost anywhere - I think it may be the weight per unit area thingy which gives better traction in the mud. |

Wider wheels 2
Also, she is my only vehicle so gets used a lot on the motorways (30mpg) as well as around the country roads, and country tyres can be noisy at 120km/h. What I need is TWO Nissan Patrols!!!!

4X4 challenge
Hi MJB
This took place just up the road from me - unfortunately I didn't know about it until today so a bit late http://www.javi4x4.com/index.php/gal...52242938147985 There's always a load of accommodation around at this time of year and EasyJet are starting flights to Granada soon. |
