Default Saying hello from across the pond

Hey folks,
Just joined up but have lurked around for a few months.

Moved to Nz 2 yrs ago and bought a 1997 2.7tdi auto "mistral"

It's treated me well and to return the favour I gave it a 2" suspension lift and some 31" A/T's. This was version 1.

Next up the body is due a 2" lift, tyres are getting changed to 32" M/t's, steering is getting beefed up, snorkel, larger air filter, wading kit, cb radio. This is version 2.

Next weekend version 2 will have a 4wheeling day out and I'll post some pics.

Look forward to spending some time around the forum and learning from info.

Regards
Dave

Welcome aboard

Nice part of the world where 4x4s don't seem to be frowned upon.

Where are you going wheeling on the trip, is it an organised safari or local guys going out?

I had the opportunity to move back a couple of months ago ( well still have ) but the timing isnt quite right for us at the moment, thinking i would like Tauranga or even wellington next.. Welcome to the site, are you on offroad express nz??

Thanks for the warm welcome lads.

You know how the saying goes..... Pics or it didn't happen! If I can manage to keep the dashcam in place there will be a video or two.

Cheers
Dave

Well if you get out look me up as I'm in wellington.
The coastal tracks are good fun. Public access mon to sat.

It's a club outing to a private "fun park" called rallywoods, there's a few videos on YouTube of the terrain, it's got all you need from rocks to mud, easy tracks to simply insane tracks.

Currently not a member but I'll have a look.

Good morning boss, I'm lucky my job is in the skilled shortage list so I never left after my working holiday visa. Immigration gave me a 3 year visa after that and want me to apply for a residency.

Yea I'm on the skilled shortage list.
I got the job offer a couple of years ago and was all set to go. Had the flights booked via USA and the RV booked for 28 day's. We were going to tour round the states while waiting for our stuff to be shipped. But then had an accident and put everything on hold. My oldest son is now starting University in September so it might be time to start the ball rolling.
