Hi guys, looking to add some 12v sockets and USB to front dash,

So. Need 3 sockets, and USB sockets, so where do I get them from, any deals going on??

Also where to put them, so need some pics,!!!

I removed the Ashtray and using a 12v socket extension made this up...

more recently I got a really nice USB unit that I put in place of the Dash cigarette lighter, which looks like this from Ebay...

But this may be even better, as you could use the blank switch location up by the alarm switch.

This is something that I'm deciding upon best way too. One thing to think about is power consumption and whether you want permanent live or switched with ignition.
I've already bought a fuse holder, can't remember if it was Barbeast but it was a patrol owner who fitted the fuse holder in the glovebox. I am going to take a live feed from the battery in heavyish guage cable from the battery with a fuse of course and feed the fuse holder. Then I can stick a relay on the output to go to switched feeds and also permanent lives too.

Someone posted an ebay link for some usb sockets that you hard wired into the system, think they placed a socket up by the mirror to feed a dash cam. I bought one of the sockets too. You have to find a place to mount the socket or as Im doing stick the usb cable in to the socket wrap it in tape and just have the usb cable coming out from behind a panel.

Won't sorting my power sockets for a while so can't really post any photos but you'll either get replies to the ideas I've mentioned or search the forum.

Yo, lazy. What the sockets fitted into??

Got my ash tray out and its all angles.

The metal top bit, that must unscrew??

Yes the mounting for the ash tray unscrews as well, the screws are at the top, towards the back.

Mine is a bit of flat chequer plate, with the 3 way socket extension fitted through it. I did not want to cut the ashtray area, so I could put it back as was, should I not like it, so had to find a way to cover the rear of the sockets, as there was not room for the original cover... The black bit was just an old box I had lurking in the garage.
